La Comida Guild’s Mission Statement

La Comida Guild, in accordance with the policies of Valley Children’s Hospital, raises funds, advocates for children, and promotes goodwill towards the hospital.

La Comida Guild, a 501C3 Corporation, began with 29 charter members and has served Valley Children’s Hospital since 1953.  The Guild presented its first Home Tour, Tea & Boutique in 1954.

La Comida Guild is an extraordinary group of volunteers devoted to supporting Valley Children’s Hospital.

Throughout the year, La Comida members prepare their renowned Home Tour, Tea & Boutique.  The week preceding the Tour is dedicated to preparation for the event.

At Evening Preview/Gala at the Fort, guests mingle with Homeowners while enjoying wine and hors d’oeuvres.  They have the first opportunity to shop the Boutique.  The evening continues with an exclusive preview of the homes.  Because Home Tour is held in early December, homes are decorated festively.

The Day Tour allows guests to view the homes on their own schedule.  Ticket holders are cordially invited to visit the Tea and Boutique for a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a delicious sampling of homemade tea cookies and mints. What a perfect way to start the holiday season!

La Comida members meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month, excluding June, July, and August. Like most volunteer organizations, La Comida does have membership requirements.  If you are enthusiastic about supporting Valley Children’s Hospital and enjoy baking and creating, this is the Guild for you!  For more information on becoming a member please contact the Guild Office at Valley Children’s Hospital.

All proceeds from the Guilds’ fund raising events benefits their $4 million goal towards three Guild endowments: Heart Center ($2M), Child Life ($1M), and Spiritual Support ($1M).
